The cold suited Acier, it's blasting wind nipping at the bare faces of all who stood in its way. Snow fell from the sky, pooling at the feet of travelers and voyaging from place to place on hair and shoulders and backs. Most became annoyed and brushed it off. Most became cold and shivered. Most sought shelter.
But Acier was not 'most.'
Acier was perfectly at home here in Ancient China, his steely gaze matching the sky above. He did not shake the snow off of his body or shield his face against the wind or shiver due to the cold. No, Acier very much welcomed the bitter chill of the environment. His arms were crossed over his chest, deadly hands covered by black gloves lined with a thin layer of steel. His hair was even more windswept than usual. The young man was standing on the edge of a cliff, looking down upon the Imperial City. His sword stuck out of the earth beside him. He looked as though he was an ancient guardian sent by the gods to protect over the area he was standing in. Nothing could move him.
And suddenly, he sensed he was not alone.

"Crappy skirt..." A femine voice spoke quietly. She was wearing a mini-skirt, in the freezing cold. She had felt her fingers grow completely numb, hours ago. She had nothing to keep her warm, which did not bother her. She was evil, she should of been one who could stand the cold weather. She had a wonderful time earlier, but now, she was just plain upset. Her surroundings were nothing like her. She was like a walking flame. She was wearing red. Her eyes were red. They beamed red, blood red. Nothing of the ice blue and the white could match her. Only the cold would ever seem to be what she was. She was cold hearted. It was true. She longed for love deep inside, but it was something she would have to wait for. Her name was Alena Sasaki. She hated, she saw nothing BUT hate for the ones who make her suffer. That is why she was cold-hearted.
Alena turned her head and a figure came into her view point. She squinted, wonderign what he was doing up there. "Haku?" She asked herself. She shook her head. "No..." She would of walked over to him but she was too much in a bad mood. She thought it would be rude to interupt him so she continued on, still wanting to know him. She stopped and turned to look at him again, and hoped he would give her a passing glance in the least so that she could see his face. A cold chill came, brushing her skirt, making her seem like a painting. Silent moments just were not Alena could handle. She always had something to say but for this moment nothing. She looked as if se were crying, as if she were a child crying. Crying, she had a right to cry. But this girl was strong. Wasn't she..?

The wind strengthened as if trying to push Acier over the edge of the cliff. However, he stood strong, closing his grey eyes and letting out a long sigh. His breath crystallized into a fog ini front of him, quickly claimed by the wind and swept off to distant places. He then opened his eyes, uncrossing his arms. As he did this, the wind swirled around him, coaxing an irratated glance out of his features and seemingly laughing joyfully before blowing in one direction. He shoved his gloved hands in his pockets and turned his head slightly to the left. His features pointed downwards and his gaze shot sideways to view the girl standing there, seemingly crying. Another sigh escaped him and he looked up as a bird burst from the snow.
He did not speak. He had not done so for months on end. Acier was a soul who communicated with gestures and glances, not with words. To him, words were merely crutches for those who could not communicate physically.

Alena sniffed and did feel something wet fall from her doll face. A tear. She felt the warmth of the tear trickle down her cheek. It made her wonder why. She was strong. That's all she told herself. Was that she was strong and one day she would meet someone who could actually make her feel brave. Yes, though she was strong it did not make her brave. Always afraid..always hiding. She continued to stare at the figure, for once a smile did not come to her. This place... She thought It's so...different. Pure? Maybe... She rubbed her frail arms, and wished to go and talk to the man. He seemed comfortable where he was. She just walked to him. She walked, not ran or struggled to walk. As if all the cold was gone. No, it was still there, she felt it on her arms when she had stopped rubbing them. She still looked out of place, well now only her clothes did. She fit in perfectly, she had light skin and her hair was a lighter color. She was like a devil from Paradise or an angel from the Underworld.

Acier's frown deepened as he heard crunching footsteps coming closer and closer to him. He sighed, wondering who it was and why they were here in the cold dressed in a simple skirt. Only idiots would come in the freezing cold in a skirt. Yet of course, most people were idiots. He could have cared less about her. He did know that she was crying and curiosity tugged at him for a moment, but soon the feeling became irritating and disappeared.
He still did not utter a word.
His frown deepened even more and his eyes narrowed, the feeling of reminiscence crawling into view. His hair rippled in the wind, which had died down, and he pulled up the fur on his collar to cover his neck for even men of steel get cold from time to time. Something needs to reassure them that yes, they're still human.

Alena felt something wrong. She could tell she was unwanted but needed some one, yes, anyone to help her. She could not feel her arms now, but she ignored it. Any longer in the snow and she would pass out. She wasn't strong. She just accepted the fact she was weak. She was even weaker than Serenity. As she came to about ten feet away, she felt something screaming in her ears. Telling her she was going to die. She knew now that she had no energy and almost lost her balance. "Wh-who are you?" She asked, trying to keep him in focus. She wasn't going to die much less pass-out at that moment. Her red eyes stared at him, seaking for an answer. Anything. He did not absoulutly have to talk to her but she really needed to hear something from him, to know she isn't just seeing things. She wiped her half way frozen tear from her face.

Acier shook his head, sending snow tumbling to the ground and revealilng that it was brown. He did the same with his shoulders and finally his feet before turning and looking at Alena. His eyes were harsh, his frown deep, his stance thingyy. He put his hands on his hips, eyes traveling over Alena, an irritated look floating in them. Another sigh escaped him and he closed his eyes. She looked cold and helpless, he decided. But did he care? Not really. However, he decided to answer her question and perhaps point her in the direction of a town. "Acier Telic," he replied, voice smooth and quiet.

Alena nodded. "Alena Sasaki," She managed to say before feeling a hot rush come from her heart to her head. She had had a sick feeling for quite a while. One that wouldn't leave her alone. Now, it was growing stronger. She almost fell back. Almost. She needed to sit down. Well not in the snow silly She thought. She could hardly keep her eyes open but she managed to do it. She could tell this man did not enjoy her presence but she enjoyed his so there was nothing she could do. She had been alone for so, so long. It was good, she heard his voice and it was good for her, to know she wasn't dreaming. Probably the only thing that was keeping her slightly warm was her long hair. Her rosy cheeks were had gone pale and she looked as if she were dead. Yeah..just go and die already She thought Not like there's soemthing live for.

Acier looked at her for a moment, grabbing his sword and walking past her. He made a motion over his shoulder that clearly stated 'Follow me.' His shoes crunched in the snow and his eyes closed to the world. He sighed and shook his head, wondering why that girl–Alena–had come up here in the first place. He did not say anything else. He barely heard her name. He was numb to the cold and the outside world, kept alive by sheer vigilance and willpower. Assuming she was behind him, he hiked down the mountain, whacking heartless out of the way here and there. Soon, he was in front of the gates to a small town, waiting for her.

Alena followed with a sad smile. She needed medical treatment. She needed it badly but she did not want to go, she hated it when people she did not know tried to help her with her wounds. So she had always did it herself. She just stood and stared blankly. She did not liek the fact he took her down there at all. "Thank you," She managed to say before feeling the sickness just completely hit her hard. She fell backwards into the snow. Her eyes were still half way open and she just completely lost it, and was out like a light. She was soundless, barely breathing. She was a complete fool to just let herself fall like that but too much stress on her frail body. "Stupid girl.." She whispered before she hit the ground.

The minute she hit the ground, a group of chinese men ran out and picked her up, carrying her into a house. Acier followed, but did not enter the home. Instead, he watched as all proper medical techniques were put to use. Soon, he was leaning against the house, eyes closed, breathing deep. It was as though he was asleep when in fact he was far away from the peaceful stage of the day. After a moment, a bowl of rice was shoved in his hands by a small child. It steemed in the cold and he accepted it with a small nod.
"Thank you," he said quietly before delving in.

A voice could be heard from inside the house. Still the same femine voice for sure. "Oh if you freaking touch me with that I'll-..." The voice began then it grew very silent. "You know, just please that medicine helped and I feel better so if you excuse me...whoa! Ow..." They had tried to wrap bandages around her wounded stomach but she obviously would not let them. She had tried to stand up and walk out the door but just fell on the ground. "I told you, just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I can't take care of myself. Hey wait! My shoes! Give them back!" A young woman stormed out of the house, holding Alena's shoes. She dropped them infront of the door, which obviously angered Alena. After the woman walked back inside, more yelling could be heard. "Please let me go already! Really, I'm alright!" She tried to explain. It grew quiet once more. "Hey don't wrap them too tight. Oh here let me do i- oh okay. Fine, Fine, Sorry."
The woman would not let Alena touch the bandages. The man in there had asked her what had happened to get that injury and why she fainted. "Well, I was fighting this other girl and she hurt me. There you go. And I fainted because first off- I need FOOD. And second- I was out in the cold too long in these clothes." It was about five minutes lady when she actually had enough energy to stand up and walk. The doctors and nurses chased after her, for she ws walking out. She bent down and was about to grab her shoes when they attempted to pull her back inside.
She stared at them like they were crazy. She felt fine. She put her shoes back on and was about to leave when they pulled on her arms. "I'm okay! For goodness sakes! These were from a long time ago!" She said pointing to where other scars might of lied. She put her shoes back on and passed a young child. He looked at her and she smiled sweetly. "Hi," She replied, with a warm sound in her voice. She sighed when he had walked away and dusted herself off, not seeing Acier. "Do this Red Eyed Woman. Do that. Go here Lady Alena. My goodness...Alena. My name is Alena," She mumbled," Not Lady Alena. And certainyl not Red Eyed woman." She looked at where they had wrapped her stomach. Something was covered. A tatoo of some sort? No, a scar. It was shaped like a tatoo. A heart. Her chain, they were shaped like hearts. It was a weird thing to think about.

Acier listened to a tussle coming from inside. Words were exchanged, anger manifested, hidden agendas revealed. He did not care for the girl bearing the name Alena, but felt it was polite to see if she was okay. And then she burst out of the cottage, muttering under her breath and not noticing Acier. He took a bite of rice, storm grey eyese following Alena as she walked.
No words escaped his mouth.

Alena sighed. "Take my shoes," She mumbled. She shivered some more when someone had walked out of the house with a coat in her hand. She simply stared at it and sighed. She took it, with a warm smile and nodded. "Why thank you kind sir," She told them man, as he walekd away. She held the coat in her hand and then saw someone, who looked like they really needed one. She walked over and handed it to the old woman. She then walked to Acier. "Well..?" She asked, leaning in, with her red eyes beaming. "Should we go now?" She asked," Oh yes, and thank you." She smiled, then looked around. Not seeing Haku, she turned back to Acier. "Oh and don't tell anyone I gave the lady the coat. That guy really wanted to give it to me." She looked up, with a sad expression.

Acier watched the scene, unmoved. Irritation moved through his eyes when Alena noticed him and he let out a sigh, taking another bite of rice and staring down at the snow. The irritation became covered by reminiscence for a moment. Then, Alena began talking and it cleared.
I really don't care, he thought bitterly. Is that bad?
His eyes slid over the landscape and landed on Alena. He grunted in answer before taking another bite.
