Naminé had barely gotten up before she and Roxas were surrounded by three hyenas, all of which who were laughing rather manically. "Too late..." she found herself saying. This drew more laughs from the hyenas, sending a shiver up her spine. She absentmindedly pressed closer to Roxas as the laughing animals closed in farther. "Do you need something?" she asked the hyenas, trying to remain calm.

The hyenas began taunting them with insults and laughing. They were trying to play on their nerves, but Roxas wasn't about to back down. He got into a crouching position and scowled.
"Just get out of the way!"
His voice instilled no fear in the hyenas what-so-ever. In fact, it made them lunge at HIM instead! Roxas got scratched across the face, and tumbled backwards. He slowly pulled himself up and put his face in his arm, trying to wipe off the blood.

Before she knew what was happening, Naminé was being lunged at. She let out a small hiss, lashing out rather blindly and hitting something on the side of the face. All the while, she backed away a bit, eyes flicking to Roxas and seeing blood. She had a bad feeling that the hyenas were royally pissed off now.
"Are you okay?" Naminé asked, backing up to where she was a bit by Roxas. She never lost sight of the three antagonists.

Roxas growled furiously at the hyenas. He nodded to Namine, then rushed at one of the hyenas, head butting it in the face. This caused the other hyenas to attack him. Roxas landed and spun around, slashing his claws in all directions. He hit one of the hyenas, and it went off to another direction. Likely to Namine. Roxas wanted to go help, but was held off by the other two.
They snapped their teeth at him, just scathing and causing some blood. Roxas was about to try to bite back, when his keyblade poofed into his mouth. It was an awkward transition, but he didn't really have a choice. He wacked them both as hard as he could repetitvly.

Naminé found a hyena advancing towards her quickly, meaning she began backing up. When she saw that this wouldn't help much, she lunged to the side. Sadly, this didn't do anything either due to the fact that the hyena was just as fast as, if not faster than, her. A quick glance to Roxas told her that he was just fine – after all, he had the keyblade.
"I'm sorry, but ..." Naminé found herself saying before a fire spell planted itself squarley between the hyena's eyes. It ran off, whimpering and blinded. Naminé then wondered wether or not to help Roxas.

Roxas more or less had things under control with the keyblade. He gave a final blow to the two, sending them scurrying. The keyblade dissapeared and he trotted over to Namine, panting a little. He smiled dispite the events.
"Alright! No problem. Let's get to that oasis!"
He didn't want to linger on the bad things that happened, he wanted to focus on the things worth focusing on. He pushed Namine's face with his own for some reason, and then trotted ahead of her in the direction of the oasis. He hoped there wouldn't be anymore hyenas along the way, of course.

Naminé watched, not sure what she would do if she had to help. Yet, before she knew it Roxas was walking towards her optimistically. She laughed a bit as his statement, remembering that they were, indeed, going to the oasis. The thought of a jungle-like place sounded fine to her. "Okay," she replied, trying to be just as optimistic and laughing a bit more at his actions. She turned and sprang in his directions, planting herself next to him in one last hop.

Above the skies, Noir watched the two with interest. "Hmm... How unusual... I suppose I should test them," muttered Noir as he flew towards the Oasis from the skies. Noir's flight was a bit faster than both Roxas' and Namine's speed, allowing him to make it into the Oasis before the two. He then landed a tree. There, Albijwaz stood observing Noir make his landing. "Those two Nobodies... It's curious, but I could've sworn they felt emotions. Anger, from the boy... Relief from the girl," said Noir to Albijwaz, "It's incredibly unusual, so I've decided to test them. Albijwaz, I believe that's your cue," The creature known as Albijwaz then nodded and clenched his claws together and a wave of darkness surrounded him. Suddenly, the Oasis was engulfed by a darkness, forcing the trees to wilt, along with the other plantations. While Noir stood hidden, Albijwaz awaited both Roxas and Namine.

Roxas padded along the dirt happily with Namine next to him. It took a while for them to get there, but soon enough it was in sight. When it was, Roxas started to speed up towards it. He was thirsty after the long walk through what may as well have been a desert. As they reached the trees, it got noticebly cooler and more tolerable. The grass was green, and the water was clear. Roxas trotted up a little bit more to a small waterfall and didn't waste anytime in jumping into the river.
He came up from underwater and looked at Namine.
"This place is great..."
He smiled and splashed water at Namine, hoping to get her to jump in, even if it was just to kill him for it.

Naminé padded through the oasis alongside Roxas, feeling that somehow, everything was not right. However, she shook the feeling off, a splash diverting her thoughts. She watched Roxas swim a bit, then found herself being splashed. "Hey..." she said with a giggle, putting a paw in and flicking water back. She soon saw how useless this was since Roxas was already wet and pulled her paw back. "Yeah, it's pretty nice," she said, laying down ungracefully, dirt poofing out around her. She sneezed a bit, then eyed the water. It wouldn't hurt... She got up, sighing and hesitating. Finally, she slunk in; after a moment, it felt rather good. A question jumped to her mind. "Hey Roxas, were you serious when you said the thing about us being friends?" Her voice was a bit quiet, as if she was a bit scared to ask the question.

Around the river, lionesses with glaring red eyes and drooling jaws started to surround. Each growled softly, but viciously as the started at both Namine and Roxas. As they approached the two, the ground they touched instantly died. In an entrance from the end of the Oasis, a large creature approached the area. His tusks were long and its eyes were emerald-green. Its skin was peach and its claws were long. The creature bowed courteously and said, "Pleasantly, do I greet you. I am Dana Albijwaz, the personification of the desire to manipulate. Please do not detest me for this, for I've been ordered to exterminate you. It's nothing personal, I assure you..." Albijwaz then crossed his arms and said with a fierce voice, "But I warn you, Nobodies! These lionesses you see before you are nothing but innocent dwellers of this world. At dawn, they will return to their normal states, but... If you attack them, the blood of these innocent creatures will be on your hands... Or paws, considering your current appearance." From the skies, Noir looked down at the withering oasis and the possessed lionesses surrounding both Roxas and Namine. His intention wasn't to kill them, but to test their mettle. This battle would prove just what sort of Nobodies they truly were.

Roxas looked at Namine kindly. He smiled as brightly and honestly as he could.
"Of course I was serious!"
Before he could say anything else, the elephant like creature and a few lionesses came in. After hearing his speech, Roxas jumped out of the water. He didn't know who they were, or what they wanted, but he was ready to fight them too. When he heard that the lionesses were innocents, he knew he'd have to leave them alone, or at least knock them unconscience. The tusked guy was the one he should go for.
"Exterminate us? We'll see about that."
The keyblade then flashed into his mouth.

Naminé smiled shyly at his answer, never really having real friends before, and was going to say something when she got cut off by someone giving a speech. She followed Roxas, lunging out of the water, eyes flicking over to the elephant-esque thing. She knew she couldn't do much, but she'd try; after all, that was doing something!
"Why do you insist on following us? We have done nothing to you," she stated firmly, turning to Roxas. "Should we just leave?"

Roxas turned steadily to look behind him. The only thing there was a cliff and a long fall. They couldn't really get away. Roxas grimaced before telling Namine.
"I don't think we have a choice."
He got back into a fighting position and awaited for Albijwaz to make some sort of movement.

"Noir was right... They do exhibit emotion. This just might be interesting, after all..." muttered Albijwaz with a smile. He then snapped his fingers and suddenly, the lionesses were engulfed by a black mist. As it cleared, they were replaced by Wyvern-like creatures. To respond to Namine, Albijwaz said to her, "I apologize for any inconvenience, but orders are orders. I wager you know what it's like to do something you don't want to do," The Wyvern-Lionesses then charged at the two with their jaws widely opened. Albijwaz simply stood there awaiting to see what they would do.
