Naminé walked through Agrabah's rather large bazaar, her hands behind her back, her eyes looking every which way. She was intrigued by the market and what it had to offer; everywhere she looked she saw beautiful jewelry, juicy fruit, and plush rugs on sale. Her own munny bag was jingling cheerfully in her pocket, but she was determined not to waste it–after all, she needed it to buy food and potions.
"'Ello, little girl!"[/color] a shopkeeper greeted. "Would you like to buy one of ze finest lamps in Agrabah?"[/i]
Naminé found a black lamp being dangled in front of her nose. She gave the small shopekeep er and smile and shook her head.
"No thank you, sir," she said quietly, walking around him. He bugged her no longer. Just as the blonde was rounding a corner, a shop burst into life as a large body appeared in it. The same happened on the other side of the walkway and a few shadows appeared around Naminé. She backed away, once again regretting her negelct to get a weapon, an dfound herself trapped in a ring of heartless. However, she did not utter a cry for help...

Riku walked hypnotically out of the darkness and into the light of the bright sun of Agrabah. It didn't bother him, the transition, but he was tired and hungry. He often wondered if an after effect of darkness was hunger...but before he could think on it, he picked up a familiar scent.
The scent of heartless...and another body. Following it, it lead him to a walk way that was somewhat hidden from public view. There he saw a girl, roughly his age, but most likely younger, with bright blonde hair and a white-ish dress. She was surrounded by heartless. Riku's first instinc was to take out the heartless. In a quick strike, he blew the first half of the heartless circle into the air. They harmlessly poofed away. Next, he ran past the girl and took the rest out in a few, nearly effortless slashes. Heartless like that were almost too easy to defeat now.
He turned around to the girl and looked her over. She seemed familiar...but not enough. He turned and started to walk away.

Though Riku did not recognize her, Naminé completely recognnized Riku. After all, how could you forget someone with silver hair and a cranky demeanor like that? It all happened in a blur and then was over. He came, he fought...he was leaving... Naminé had always thought him to be a tad antisocial and now she saw that she was rather right.
"Um...thank you," Naminé said unsurely, her voice rather quiet. "Thank you very much."
She did not want to question his rather rude and premature departure due to the fact Naminé wasn't a questioner–she felt that the answers would always come in due time. Then there was the fact that Naminé was shy to begin with.
Well, she thought determindedly, sometimes you can't be shy.
"Are you just going to...leave? No introduction or...anything?" she asked, hating the fact that her voice was still quiet.

Riku stopped. He wasn't really expecting that, even though he should've been. Unfortunatly, he couldn't introduce himself in a big exciting manner like Sora could. He turned around and looked at the girl. She really did look familiar. Why couldn't he put his finger on it?
"Riku."
Was all that came out of his mouth. He let his keyblade dissapear and he walked a little closer. He couldn't help himself...
"Are you safe now? Or do you need something else?"
He said it in kind of a sarcastic tone, even though he didn't really mean it like that. He was just too used to talking like that, that he kind of lost control of it. To keep her from getting offended or something, he let out a small...very small smirk.

Naminé frowned at his tone, but the expression disappeared when she saw the nearly nonexistant smirk on his face. However, she did not smile as she usually would.
"As of now, I don't," she said rather crisply. "But once again, thank you...my self defense isn't really in existence."
She smiled a bit and shrugged, then remembered her own manners. "By the way, I'm Naminé," she said with a smile, her head inclining ever so slightly. She looked over her shoulder to make sure there weren't anymore heartless, even though she already knew that there weren't any. Her gaze then returned to Riku.

Riku's eyes busted wide open, and his mouth moved slightly agape. Namine. He knew that name. He knew he knew it...he started remembering things...Castle Oblivion for one.
"N-Namine!? The same Namine that I met a while ago?"
His posture went from straight to half curled over with his arms flailed someway behind him. He didn't think he'd ever see her again...especially not here! He felt a little stupid, staring like that, so he pulled away a little bit. His eyes were still wide, however.

Naminé nodded, her smile widening a bit and a laugh ringing through the air. "How many Naminé's do you think there are?" she asked jokingly. "Yes, that Naminé. The one from Castle Oblivion." She gave Riku a tiny wave, still laughing a bit. She hadn't expected him to remember her–not many did–but he had and his reaction amused her.

Without thinking, Riku pulled Namine in a happy embrace. This was very...and I mean very...unusual gesture for Riku. The only people he ever did that with was...well...Sora, Mickey and Kairi. It didn't matter though. She was the one who helped Sora! He pulled away, his hand still on her shoulders.
"Thanks for helping Sora, Namine."
He meant more than he said, but he was pretty sure she was intuitive enough to catch it all. When he said it, his voice was the same, almost monotone way it always was. He finnaly pulled wholly away, hoping he didn't scare her too much...

Naminé blinked, not used to the gesture, letting loose a small yelp of surprise. She then found herself being thanked and became suddenly modest.
"You're welcome..." she mumbled, a tinge of pink appearing on her cheeks. "It wasn't...I mean...well..."
She shrugged, accepting defeat and ending her [not really a] sentence with a small half smile. She had never really expected any of that from Riku, but crazier things had happened...
"How is Sora doing?" Naminé found herself asking.

Riku laughed at the question. It was more like, how WASN'T Sora doing? That kid was always happy. He always had something to look forward too and a reason to smile.
"Sora? He's still a doof."
Riku found himself laughing as he said it. He hadn't been able to talk like that since he left his island the first time. It was nice to sort of unwind a little bit...even if it was only for a very small time. Before he knew it, he'd be serious again.

Naminé laughed a bit, happy to see Riku loosening up for a moment.
"What about Kairi?" she found heself asking. She didn't really know her other, but she had heard enough to act as though she knew her. She pushed a piece of blonde hair behind her ear, smiling and waiting for an answer.

Riku's smile faded a bit as his seriousness started returning. Kairi was okay last time he saw her...but he wasn't sure what became of her after that. Some friend he was.
"...I don't know. I'm pretty sure she's alright..."
He had a little bit of doubt in his voice, but he was truly optimistic that she was okay wherever she was now. He turned his head and looked at their surroundings. It was a nasty looking area, and he wouldn't regret it if he never saw it again.
"Let's move somewhere else."
He turned and walked out of the alleyway. He always had a knack of just assuming that whoever he was with would follow. But usually, the did. As he walked, he felt the sand under his shoes. They were starting to seep in and it was a little annoying. It was the same sort of sand as Destiny Islands...there was no water to contact it, so it was hard and dusty. After a few steps away from the alley, he stopped.

Naminé blinked, taking a moment to decide wether or not to follow. In the end, she did as Riku expected: she followed. And then, she found herself stopping again.
"Is something wrong?" she asked. She was not at all bothered by the sand due to some strange reason she did not know. Whatever it was, it didn't matter.

"Yeah." He said it blankly, and a little unexpecetedly to himself. He didn't usually dispose his problems, but he trusted Namine. He trusted her the first time he met her, actually.
"I've been all over the place...I've been trying to find other writings on darkness from Ansem the Wise...I've searched everywhere. Even his room. I know there's more though, I just have a feeling."
As he said that to Namine, he sort of restated it to himself to keep track of things. He wasn't finding much, and only a few things that were new popped up. He looked down at the sand that was still bothering him.

"You can deal with the sand much more easily if you take your shoes off," Naminé offered, noticing his slight agitation with the ground. In her opinion, you might as well have it on your whole foot rather than bug just a part of it...but that was her opinion. My opinion is just to stay away from sand. Naminé then turned her attention to his statement.
"So, I assume you've read all of the reports?" she asked.
